Crate training your Saint Bernard puppy will keep it safe.

Learn why crate training is smart!

The Perfect Crate For Life
  Akc Saint Bernard Puppies

We reccommend the Giant Size Crate - Delivered to your door. It can be enlarged as your pup grows.
It is the cage that we use and prefer. The pups and big dogs are very comfortable in it and it is the best that we have seen. It can be the only crate as it adapts to Life Stages of a pups growth.

The cage weights roughly 100lbs. I think it is best to
and have it shipped. That way you can get it right to your door and set it up. I found this to be very hard to load.  The UPS man will bring it in and put it where you want to set up if you ask.

"Private room with a view. Ideal for traveling dogs or for those who just want a secure, quiet place to hang out at home."   There is no place like home and your pup will feel that way too!

Crating philosophy

Crate training uses a dog's natural instincts as a den animal. A wild dog's den is his home, a place to sleep, hide from danger, and raise a family. The crate becomes your dog's den, an ideal spot to snooze or take refuge during a thunderstorm.

The primary use for a crate is house training. Dogs don't like to soil their dens.
The crate can limit access to the rest of the house while he learns other rules, like not to chew on furniture.

A crate isn't a magical solution. If not used correctly, a dog can feel trapped and frustrated.

Never use the crate as a punishment. Your dog will come to fear it and refuse to enter it.
Don't leave your dog in the crate too long. A dog that’s crated day and night doesn't get enough exercise or human interaction and can become depressed or anxious. You may have to change your schedule, hire a pet sitter, or take your dog to a doggie daycare facility to reduce the amount of time he must spend in his crate every day.

Puppies under six months of age shouldn't stay in a crate for more than three or four hours at a time. They can't control their bladders and bowels for that long. The same goes for adult dogs that are being house trained. Physically, they can hold it, but they don’t know they’re supposed to.
Crate your dog only until you can trust him. After that, it should be a place he goes voluntarily.

Adjust your Saint Bernard pups crate. The seperator is easy to adjust and I always hang a sheet on it to make it look like the back of the crate.

It's perfect for a lifetime
All of our dogs use them and love them!!!

Your dog's crate should be just large enough for him to stand up and turn around in. If your dog is still growing, choose a crate size that will accommodate his adult size. Block off the excess crate space so your dog can't eliminate at one end and retreat to the other. The crate training process.

Please, do not leave your pup or dog in a crate all day!!!   This is cruel, a playpen is for long periods of time.   They can play, stay safe and not be CAGED.   Do not cage your Saint Bernard..

 The Pet Play Pen
This is for the pup when you will be away for longer periods of time

Please, do not lock your pet in a crate all day.
